Design and execution of carbon fiber strengthening solutions for offshore concrete structures

Concrete Structures presented and discussed their carbon fiber reinforcement solution for an equipment shaft on an oil platform. The presentation highlighted the complexity of executing offshore concrete structures and emphasized the importance of execution requirements for carbon reinforcements. It began with a general overview of the theoretical basis for reinforcing concrete sections with carbon fiber, as well as practical application for design. Furthermore, it explained how Concrete Structures calculated the carbon reinforcement for the equipment shaft to handle the loads arising from the original design.
